Tourism Cabinet Secretary Alfred Mutua has confirmed June Chepkemei as the new Chief Executive Officer of the Kenya Tourism Board (KTB).
She replaces John Chirchir, who has been occupying the position in an acting capacity since November 2022.
In a gazette notice dated March 21, Mutua mandated Chepkemei to serve in the position for three years.
“In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 37(1) of the Tourism Act, 2011, the Cabinet Secretary for Tourism and Wildlife appoints June Teclar Chepkemei to be the Chief Executive Officer of the Kenya Tourism Board,” read the gazette notice in part.
Before her appointment, she served as the Managing Director of the Kenya Investment Authority (KenInvest).
