Per the High Court's directive, a case requesting the removal of Kiambaa Constituency Development Funds Boss Lorna Muthoni from office will be discussed on May 30, 2024.

In the case, Lorna Muthoni Njoroge was petitioned to be removed from office by Richard Mulwa Musyoka, Richard Nzine, Nicholas Michael, and Elizabeth Mumbi, claiming that she was unfit to hold the position.

"Lorna Muthoni Njoroge is unfit to hold public office as she engages in behaviour that places her office into contempt, disrepute because of abuse of public office and public trust," reads the petition.

Allegations of nepotism are made by the four petitioners via attorney Shadrack Wambui.

"She is engaged in acts of nepotism ...we have raised the matter before this court ...there has not been any action taken against her with relevant authorities," the court was told.

But Lorna has filed a preliminary objection, claiming that the petition is premature and that the court lacks jurisdiction to hear it.

The application states, "The application and the petition are mere schemes to perpetrate smear campaigns in an attempt to malign the second respondent name."

According to the court-filed witness statement, she adds that the petitioners have been hired and are defending her divorced husband.

She now requests that the application be denied.

Justice Byrum Ongaya directed that the matter be mentioned in May for further directions.
