Bank customers were treated to the scene of their lifetime after a woman took a dead 68-year-old man in a wheelchair into a bank branch and tried to convince him to sign a loan.

Erika Vieira Nunes wheeled a dead person into a bank in a Rio suburb on Tuesday, telling the cashier that the guy requested a loan of 17,000 reais ($3,250), according to surveillance camera footage.

She grasped a pen and moved his hand forward but received no response.

According to the security video, "Uncle, are you listening? You need to sign," she said, suggesting she sign for him.

"He doesn't say anything, that's just how he is," she said, adding, "If you're not okay, I'm going to take you to the hospital."

Bank employees grew suspicious when the man's head kept slipping back when the lady stopped supporting it, so they called the police, who arrested her for fraud. The body was transferred to a mortuary.

Her lawyer claimed the guy died at the bank, but a police forensic study revealed he died earlier while lying down.
