Nairobi County Governor Johnson Sakaja has declared his candidature for the Nairobi United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Chairmanship position.

Speaking in a meeting with Members of the County Assembly (MCAs) allied to UDA, Sakaja announced that he will defend his seat in the next general election on the UDA Party.

“I want you to get this from the horse’s mouth. I’m vying for Nairobi chairmanship position in the United Democratic Alliance party,” he said.

The members who attended the meeting with the governor vowed to back Sakaja’s candidature.

Sakaja will now face off with Embakasi North MP John Gakuya who had also announced his interest in vying for the same position.
