Police have arrested three individuals in connection with a security incident that occurred during President William Ruto's public address in Kehancha on Sunday.
The suspects are believed to have participated in an act where a shoe was thrown at President Ruto while he was speaking to residents.
The incident caused a brief disruption during the Head of State’s speech, which focused on lowering the cost of farming inputs for local farmers.
A senior security officer, who requested anonymity due to the sensitive nature of the case, confirmed that investigations are ongoing. Authorities are actively pursuing additional suspects and believe the attack may have been politically motivated and pre-planned ahead of the President’s arrival in the region.
According to the officer, detectives zeroed in on a primary suspect considered central to the incident. Arresting this individual could significantly advance the investigation.
