Kirinyaga Woman Representative Jane Njeri Maina turned heads with her glamorous appearance at the Thamani Awards, held at the KCB Leadership Center over the weekend. Her grand entrance made a statement as she arrived in a stylish silver gown, paired with a crisp white overcoat, an elegant pearl necklace, and a matching clutch. Adding to the allure was the sleek luxury SUV she emerged from, underscoring her rising stature and refined sense of style.
Maina was presented with the coveted Voice of Reason award—an honor she accepted with grace and appreciation.
“I’m deeply humbled to have received the Voice of Reason award,” she said. “To everyone who voted for me, this is our win. I’m truly grateful for your continued support.”
She also took a moment to recognize her supporters who attended the event, expressing heartfelt thanks: “To my people who showed up and showed out, I am indebted to your kindness and love. Truly, where God leads, He provides.”
Elected in 2022 under the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) ticket, Maina made history by becoming one of the youngest Members of Parliament in Kenya at just 28 years old.
A trained Advocate of the High Court and former musician, Maina’s journey from the University of Nairobi’s law school to national leadership continues to inspire many across the country.
Interestingly, politics was never part of her initial plan. She only considered running for office after former Woman Rep Purity Ngirici stepped aside—a bold move that eventually led her to a groundbreaking victory over seasoned contenders.
