Vihiga Bullets head coach George Oduor praised his young team's potential after a 4-1 thrashing of Mulembe United at the Ruraka Stadium on Saturday during their National Super League match.

Bullets returned from a goal down to win 4-1 thanks to goals from Owuor Soita and Thomas Omole, as the tactician praised his charges for a brilliant performance despite their lack of experience.

"My team isn't bad because they're young guys who, as I said, we want to give time to grow." We have about three experienced players on this team; the rest are young players with great potential, and we must keep their spirits strong by dropping them.

"This team continues to gel. Maybe in the transfer window something always happens, you may get two or three players to beef up the squad a little bit here and there but not to drop these players," expressed Oduor.

Bullets have jumped ahead of Mulembe in the NSL standings, now sitting 16th with 14 points after 14 games, while Mulembe is a point behind in 17th, just a point above the relegation zone.

In other news, leaders Naivas FC maintained their lead with a fifth consecutive victory on Saturday, defeating Mombasa Elite 1-0.

Former Kenyan Premier League champion Mathare United is two points behind after a 2-2 draw with Kibera Black Stars.

Kisumu All-Stars and Mara Sugar are third and fourth, respectively, after victories over Darajani Gogo and Nairobi United.
