Jeremiah Wahome won the sixth round of the Kenya National Rally Championship (KNRC) Mombasa Motor Club, held last weekend at Mombasa Cement Vipingo in Kilifi County.
The young rally driver, driving a Ford Fiesta with co-driver Victor Okundi, set a time of 02.12.12 after the final six stages of the two-day race, which concluded on Sunday.
The coast tour re-enacted the season-opening Machakos Rally, in which youthful Wahome easily defeated all his stage opponents.
Only five of the twelve vehicles completed the final stage, with Jasmeet Chana finishing second in 02.13.31 while driving a Mitsubishi Evolution 10 and Anthony Nelsen finishing third in 02.14.18.

Wahome acknowledged his joy at the rally's bright start despite the event's challenging stages, which he described as long and lumpy, creating challenges along the route.
"Words alone cannot express my joy at my first national home win and second career KNRC victory."
"And the fact that they've both come in the same season makes this my best season ever," he explained.
Mwaura Njuguna, general manager of the Kenya Motor Sports Federation (KMSF), praised the participating teams for making the annual two-day event a success but urged clubs to incorporate night rally stages to explore other opportunities in the business.
"We encourage clubs to start organizing night rallies to allow us to get back to where we used to be during the old Safari Rally days," Njuguna stated.

Njuguna also praised the event's principal sponsor, Mombasa Cement, for helping to make round six of the Kenya National Rally Championship a big success.
"They have always been supportive of this event and are also involved in KNRC and autocross, among other events that we run," added Njuguna.
Wahome's second podium finish came at North Coast's Vipingo, following a third-place finish in Eldoret.
