A terrible lottery game on Sunday has left Kapsita Kamondo village in Molo, Nakuru County, in mourning.

A 24-year-old young person is fighting for his life in Elburgon Hospital after suffering severe injuries in the incident, while a 22-year-old man was slashed on the neck on the spot.

After the victims and a suspect who left the scene got into an argument over the lottery game, there was a vicious fight.

Speaking from Elburgon Hospital, Robert Biwott, Geoffrey Bett, and village elder Vincent Ngetich bemoaned the rise in gambling among young people who consume copious amounts of alcohol and marijuana.

The local elders requested that all law enforcement personnel be relocated and that lottery games be discontinued.

When contacted for comment, Alex Gichane, location chief at Kapsita, confirmed the incident and promised to send out a thorough report as soon as possible.

After the incident, the suspect has not been taken into custody.
