Elizabeth Wairimu, a sex worker was murdered after rejecting an offer of Ksh.800. Martin Njathi, the man accused of strangling a commercial sex worker to death has been charged with murder.
Njahi committed the offence at a Nairobi guest house. According to the accusation, on the night of July 30 and 31, 2021 at Bulls K Annex Guest House within Nairobi Central Business District murdered Elizabeth Wairimu.
Martin allegedly strangled Elizabeth to death.

According to police, a murder incident was reported by a security guard at the guest house that on July 30, 2021at around 7 pm, the accused person went to the lodge accompanied by an unknown woman and booked a room where they spent the night.
The next morning, Njathi is said to have woken up at 5 am and walked out of the room alone, and informed the receptionist that he wanted to check out.
This became suspicious prompting the security guard to inquire him about the whereabouts of the deceased who was his companion.
The guard told the accused that the regulations of the premises are they both check out the way they booked in.
They went back to the room only to find the woman naked lying in bed appearing to be asleep. They tried to wake her up but she did not respond to any touch or sound.
Police officers visited the scene and confirmed that the woman was dead and blood was oozing from her private parts.
After killing the woman, the accused allegedly had sex with the dead body the whole night before inserting a broken bottle in her private parts.
Martin's lawyer Clinton Litwaji pleaded for lenient bond terms stating that he was of humble means.
The prosecution, however, opposed his release on bond citing his interference with witnesses. It was apprehensive that if released, the accused would threaten witnesses.
