The Kenya Medical Supplies Authority (KEMSA) Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Dr. Andrew Mulwa, has won the 2024 edition of the African Governance Award.

The African Governance Award identifies and publicly recognises sovereign institutions, multilateral institutions active across the continent, and the collaborating, supporting, and partnering private enterprises that have made exemplary contributions to good governance on the continent with regard to political governance and socio-economic development.

According to the organizers, Dr. Mulwa’s recognition was reached after their nomination by the African public and authentication of his nomination claims with regard to his conduct, performance, and impact.

According to a letter seen by Citizen Digital, KEMSA was also confirmed as the most outstanding medical authority across Africa.

“This confirms you as one of the leading lights in Africa’s ongoing political and socio-economic renaissance and presents you to the world as worthy of international public acclaim as a standard setter for public institutions across the continent, inclusive of central, regional/state and local governments, ministries, state agencies, bilateral and multilateral institutions, and other specialized institutions of state as well as official government institutions serving as development partners for African countries and their private sector partners in socio-economic development,” the letter reads in part.

Dr. Mulwa will be feted during the African Governance Conference event that will be held in Mauritius from February 7-10, 2024.
