Rita's partner, Robert Nagila, paid a glowing tribute to his late partner, saying her sudden death shattered him.

"The last few days the first question I have received from well-wishers is, how are you doing? As I stand here today, the answer to that question is, I am broken," Nagila started his tributes.

"We are all here because Rita impacted our lives in a special way. Rita, when our paths first crossed, your beauty, hearty laughter and warm heart touched me. You were also the most stubborn person I ever met. Principled in your beliefs," Nagila added.

Members of the media fraternity also praised her, calling her a reliable friend and a trustworthy person.

“Success, fame and money did not distort who she was at the core. Rita navigated this complex urban maze and flourished almost entirely out of a good upbringing,” Royal Media Services’ Group Editorial Director and Head of Strategy Linus Kaikai said.

“Rita’s journalistic prowess transcends headlines; it wove narratives that touched many hearts, challenged the norms and sparked conversations,”  said Ken Mijungu.
