Yesterday’s by-elections held at Malindi in Mombasa brewed an outrageous scene between the Mombasa Governor, Hassan Johoh and the extrovert Kabete Mp Ferdinand Waititu over votes bribery.
The two politicians were captured on video which showed how furious and angry the Governor Joho was. It is alleged that Mp Ferdinand Waititu was issuing money to voters urging them to vote for Jubilee.
However, this did not go well with the popular controversial Kabete Mp since he had stepped on a live wire.
The Mombasa Governor was in a no-nonsense mood and he even went as far as reporting the matter to the Malindi Police Station.
On the other hand, Ferdinand was not the only one in this practice, ODM’s Communication Director, Philip Etale is also said to have been in possession of voters material.
Quite a number of culprits were arrested due to this malpractices that discourage fair and just elections. Among the few who were conducting this bribery were Msambweni MCA Suleiman Dori (ODM member) and also Mwea MP Paul Gitau.
This brings a lot of questions to voters who are preparing for next year’s elections. While Kenyans are choosing their suitable representatives, it looks like politicians are doing their best to greatly manipulate the democratic rights of this citizens using their dirty money.
However, Hassan Joho seemed disgusted by Ferdinand’s stunts on the polling station and it is claimed that the two might have gone physical after Governor Joho claimed the Kabete Member Of Parliament was involved in bribery.
